A visit to the doctor

June 6, 2007

I had to go.

He was holding my scripts hostage….till I came in for a visit.

No narcotics, just good old fashioned BP medication to keep the morbidly obese alive a few more years. Apparently he wanted to run a few tests to make sure I was not gonna die before I payed up. The nurse weighed me (297 lbs.) down from 305 (a lifetime of work) since SFF has been eating right.

The big news is, I made a wager with my doctor to get my BP down without medication: Goal weight of 240-250 lbs. in 6-9 months. Now I have somebody watching over my shoulder.

That is Motivation

  1. You can do it. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and given TWO medicines. (One terribly expensive, I might add.) She told me if I could lose weight AND exercise (she’s evil, I tell you!), she would take me off my medicines. I got rid of one back in December or January and the other one about two months ago.

    Good luck!

  2. Wish I could get my hubby to read this. He has HBP and went off his meds without consulting his doctor.
The problem with high blood pressure is it is a silent killer. He thinks that as long as he feel OK, then he doesn’t need the HBP meds. And, I can’t get him to understand that he needs to continue them.

Good luck,FH. On the weight loss and the HBP.

PS It’s about time that you wrote something. SFF is leaving you in the dust when it comes to blogging.
